Sterilisation is the complete elimination or destruction of all forms of microbial life and is accomplished in healthcare facilities by either physical or chemical processes.Disinfection describes a process that eliminates many or all pathogenic microorganisms on inanimate objects with the exception of bacterial spores.

Method of sterilization that may be used for these instruments and materials that are heat stable include steam under pressure (autoclave), chemical (formaldehyde) vapour, and dry heat.Out of these three methods steam under pressure i.e. autoclaving is the most dependable method of sterilization, where the instruments are exposed to steam under pressure of 15 pounds at 121 degree Celsius for 15 minutes.

MMSDC follows Four Tier sterilization Protocol for Non Disposable Instruments

Tier 1: All the instruments are scrubbed thoroughly with Spirit swabs to remove ant attached debris.

Tier 2: The instruments are then immersed in 5% Korsolex sterilizing solutions for 45 min for standard Disinfection.

Tier 3: The Cold Sterile instruments are then packed in individualized sterile packs contain instruments, gauze, cotton balls and suction devices. Our patients are reassured when a new pack of supplies is opened in front of them to prior to treatment.

Tier 4: Dental instruments in sterilized packages are stored in U.V. Chamber to maintain sterilization, which are opened in front of the patient.

I & My Assistant wear surgical scrubs, gloves, masks and protective eyewear during patient treatment. We feel that – at highest priority, we are conducting infection control & Sterilization program at our clinic. We welcome any question from you regarding our procedures.
